And this almost happens. The Taurus flew into my lane to avoid the stopped cars, I slammed on the brakes and steered for the inside of the turn and we somehow squeezed past him and just missed hitting him head on. Very scary stuff. The ground isn't even that wet, this guy must have just been flying around that turn.

88 with the 5.0L. I loved that truck and wish I could have kept it but the fuel economy was killing me at the time and shw was a money pit anyway. Such a fun truck though.

That looks like hella fun!
Ours was bored and cammed, so she had a wicked roar. I was so sad to see her go too. It wasn't due to fuel consumption - Dad never really cared about that. It was the nickel 'n' diming repairs after 14 years of ownership. The fuel tank, the steering box and related bits, suspension needed work, so much that needed work.
I saw it a few years later, and while he hadn't messed with the paint (dad painted her big flake metallic black with medium silver down the indentations), he'd over-sized the wheels, and the engine note wasn't the same. That's when I knew we lost her.
